ASHRAE Toronto and CaGBC Greater Toronto Dinner Meeting- January 2012 |
The Greater Toronto Chapter partnered with ASHRAE Toronto to co-host their first Dinner Meeting of the year, on Jan 9th 2012, where we showcased Seneca's KIP Building, a precedent-setting green building design at an academic campus. (Click here for more on their environmental achievements)
After ASHRAE Toronto's 2012 Career Fair, over 40 people were led on a guided tour of the new Knowledge Infrastructure Program building at Seneca College (seeking LEED Gold). This was followed by a sit-down dinner and detailed presentation of the overall mechanical design by Tony Dingman, partner at Dialog (formally Cohos-Evamy).

Green Drinks Holiday Celebration - December 2011 |

On Wednesday, December 21st evening the Greater Toronto Chapter and GreenDrinks Toronto brought together sustainability professionals from across the city for a great networking and festive Holiday Celebration at Grace O'Malley's.
This event was free and open to everyone who wanted to attend.

What's Next Toronto? - December 2011 |
On December 1st, 2011, the Chapter brought the 2011 Greenbuild theme "NEXT" home to the Greater Toronto Area with our “What's Next Toronto?” Chapter Event at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
A part of Construct Canada’s Green Building Festival, we held this as a members appreciation event: all Chapter Members received free admission, which included a hot buffet and cash bar.
Over 60 Chapter Members and non-members explored our region’s top issues and projects in the green building sector through a series of tailored break-out sessions. During these brief, interactive discussions, attendees interacted with experts to co-develop their ideas about where our region was at the end of 2011, and in which direction we are headingExperts and attendees alike walked away with a new understanding of their city, new routes to explore, and the motivation to take on What's Next Toronto.

National Green Building Conference at Construct Canada - November 30 -December 1 2011 |
As the Principal Supporting Association, the Chapter welcomed thousands of professionals to the National Green Building Conference at Construct Canada, Nov 30 - Dec 1st, 2011. It was the 23rd edition of Canada’s largest annual show on building design, construction, housing, interior design, renovation, property management, and green building. Some 23,000 attendees gained access to world-class seminars and exhibitors.

More than 55 Chapter members beat the heat and rush hour traffic to attend the July Chapter Meeting at the Earth Rangers Centre at the Kortright Centre / TRCA's Living City Campus in Woodbridge, ON. In partnership with the Earth Rangers Foundation and the MCW Group of Companies, Platinum Sponsor of CaGBC-GTC, the Chapter hosted an exclusive evening of food, friends, and fun in the beautiful natural surroundings of the LEED-Gold certified Earth Rangers Centre.

Green Building Walking Tour - July 2010 |

The Greater Toronto Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council partnered with the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers to organize a Green Building Walking Tour downtown Toronto. 30 members of both organizations escaped the sweltering afternoon heat to attend the tour of 2 leading green building facilities: the Enwave plant and the Telus Tower. The tour showcased the unique green building and energy conservation technologies in use at the world’s largest lake-source cooling system, the Enwave Deep Lake Cooling Plant (DLWC) and the newly constructed Telus Tower, which is currently pursuing the LEED Gold status for sustainability.
