The ICF method of construction speaks directly to multiple areas within the LEED evaluation of a building and is recognized as a Green building technology.
 

Advantages of ICF over other methods of construction;

1. Energy Savings; ICF buildings can save upward of 50% on energy consumption depending on building design. In most cases heating and air conditioning systems can be engineered to be smaller because of the energy savings.
2. Indoor Air Quality; ICF buildings are far more air tight than many conventional buildings, contributing to energy savings and indoor air quality, eliminating most air infiltration from the outside (smog, pollen, dusts etc...). Also, the inert nature of the ICF means no off gassing and no mold and mildew problems as is a problem in most basements.
3. Sound Supression; ICF structures are unbelievably quiet, allowing far less noise to penetrate the building envelope.
4. Cost Effectiveness; Vertical ICF is easy to assemble, and not as complex as the traditional ICF methods, thereby making Green more affordable.
5. Environmentally Friendly; Utilizing recycle materials within the system speaks to recycling concerns. ICF buildings also have extended lifecycles, contributing to sustainable architecture and allowing us to save natural resources such as trees.
