Continuing Education + CE Hours
Under the new Credential Maintenance Program (CMP), LEED Professionals are required to fulfill Continuing Education (CE) hours every two years in order to maintain their credential.  The CMP is administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).

How to Earn CE Hours

As a Chapter, we offer multiple ways for you to earn CE hours:

  1. Courses and workshops reviewed and approved by the USGBC
  2. Live presentations through our Chapter Events
  3. Self-study (Chapter member magazine subscriptions, our Green Building Guide and resources section)
  4. College and university courses
  5. Certificates, licenses and credentials (earning your second LEED credentials, e.g.)
  6. Committee & volunteer work
There are 8 categories in total, and each has specifications and limitations of how many hours you can report.  For a complete explanation of each category, please see the GBCI Activities Guide.
