Program Committee
Committee Co-Chairs: Wells Baker & Jim Lord, Directors
The program committee is responsible for developing and promoting the Chapter’s public events and educational programs including networking, training and educational activities, as well as website content. The committee also ensures that all Chapter programs and events are inclusive of a broad range of its membership, and that is representative of all sectors in industry, academia and government.
Municipal Leaders Forum Subcommittee
Subcommittee Chair: Tony Iacobelli, Director
In partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), the Municipal Forum brings Municipal and Regional leaders together for a one day roundtable session to identify best practices and barriers of green building, create synergies and promote consistent policies across jurisdictions. Smaller working groups are currently convened to continue discussions and ensure that recommendations are put forth and issues are resolved.
Marketing Committee
Committee Chair: Nelson Elliott, Director
The marketing committee was created to promote effective marketing and communications related to the Chapter in order to engage its membership and ensure its recognition as industry experts, a place of knowledge and leadership to the industry/government/institutions and general public. It also focuses on increasing sponsorship/partnership opportunities with industry/government/institutions.
Membership Committee
Committee Chair: Darryl Neate, Director
The membership committee was created to ensure the provision of a program of member services that provides direct, tangible benefits to all members. It also guarantees the flow of appropriate communication from the entire membership to all formed Committees and the National Board of Directors, and that the wishes of the majority of membership are conveyed to relevant committees for consideration.
Emerging Green Builders Committee
Committee Co-Chairs: Amandeep Singh Deol & Samantha MacLeod, Board Liaison: Ian Theaker, Director
The Emerging Green Builders (EGBs) in the Greater Toronto Area are a coalition of students and young professionals intent on promoting the integration of future leaders into the green building movement. Emerging Green Builders are defined as a student or a new professional within 5 years of graduation or 30 years of age or younger.
Finance Committee
Committee Chair: Chris Ouellette, Treasurer
The finance committee oversees the preparation of an annual budget for presentation to the Board of Directors. In addition, it reviews the annual financial statements and provides a report on the financial status of the Chapter to the Board of Directors and membership at the Annual General Meeting.
