Municipal Leaders Forum on Green Building

Municipal Forum is an initiative by the CaGBC - Greater Toronto Chapter in partnership with Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. Leadership from Muncipal and Regional governments is one of the key areas brought forth in the  Green Building Advancement Strategy (GBAS). There is a great opportunity for Regional and Municipal governments to take a more active leadership role, as these groups are best equipped to drive change within their jurisdictions.  However, numerous barriers are present, including a lack of education and training amongst municipal staff, a lack of available resources and inconsistent policies across jurisdictions.

The Municipal Forum will bring Municipal and Regional leaders together for a one day roundtable session to identify best practices and barriers of green building, create synergies and promote consistent policies across jurisdictions.  Upon completion of the roundtable, a smaller working group will be convened to continue discussions and ensure that recommendations are put forth and issues are resolved.
